Description

Rapid 12 Panel Urine Drug Test with BUP, EtG and Fentanyl

This 12 panel rapid drug test combines urine collection, preliminary multidrug screening and three specimen-validity indicators in one compact 90ml cup.

The configuration is differentiated by buprenorphine at 10 ng/mL, EtG at 300 ng/mL, fentanyl at 20 ng/mL and a lower 500 ng/mL methamphetamine cutoff. It also includes pH, specific gravity and creatinine indicators for evaluating specimen characteristics.

This cup is intended for qualified forensic programs that require BUP, EtG and fentanyl coverage in one device. Buyers looking for other analyte combinations can compare all 12 panel drug test cups.

Drug Panels and Cutoff Levels

Drug or drug class Abbreviation Cutoff level
Amphetamines AMP 1,000 ng/mL
Buprenorphine BUP 10 ng/mL
Benzodiazepines BZO 300 ng/mL
Cocaine metabolite COC 300 ng/mL
Ethyl glucuronide ETG 300 ng/mL
Fentanyl FEN 20 ng/mL
MDMA or Ecstasy MDMA 500 ng/mL
Methamphetamine MET 500 ng/mL
Methadone MTD 300 ng/mL
Opiates or Morphine OPI 300 ng/mL
Oxycodone OXY 100 ng/mL
Marijuana metabolite THC 50 ng/mL

A screening cutoff is the concentration used to distinguish a preliminary negative result from a preliminary non-negative result. A negative result does not necessarily mean that no drug or metabolite is present; it may be present below the assay cutoff.

For additional information about screening thresholds, review our drug test cutoff level guide.

Why This Configuration Includes Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine requires a dedicated assay and is not automatically detected by a general opiate panel. This cup includes a separate BUP assay at a 10 ng/mL cutoff.

The presence of a BUP panel can be important when buprenorphine screening is specifically required by a forensic testing program. Results should be interpreted according to the product insert and the organization’s written testing procedures.

A preliminary non-negative BUP result does not establish whether use was prescribed, authorized or unauthorized. Relevant documentation and laboratory confirmation may be required before making a consequential decision.

EtG and Fentanyl Screening

The EtG panel screens for ethyl glucuronide, an alcohol metabolite, at 300 ng/mL. An EtG result does not measure current impairment and should not be interpreted like a breath-alcohol test.

The FEN panel provides preliminary fentanyl screening at 20 ng/mL. Buyers should not assume that the assay detects every fentanyl analog. Review the manufacturer’s cross-reactivity information when coverage for a particular compound or metabolite is required.

If your program requires barbiturate screening instead of buprenorphine, compare this cup with the ETG FEN 12 Panel Urine Test Cup with BAR and adulterants.

Specimen-Validity Indicators

The integrated ADLTX section includes pH, specific gravity and creatinine indicators. These indicators provide additional information about specimen characteristics that may suggest unusual concentration, dilution or another condition requiring further review.

Indicator Abbreviation Purpose
pH pH Evaluates whether the specimen is unusually acidic or alkaline.
Specific gravity SG Provides information about urine concentration or possible dilution.
Creatinine CRE Helps identify specimens that may be unusually dilute.

These indicators do not detect every possible adulterant and do not replace chain-of-custody procedures or laboratory specimen-validity testing when those procedures are required.

How to Use the 12 Panel Drug Screen Cup

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the specific product lot.

  1. Prepare the test. Keep the cup sealed until specimen collection is ready to begin. Review the product insert and expiration date.
  2. Collect the specimen. Remove the lid and collect urine directly in the cup according to the required collection volume.
  3. Secure the lid. Replace and tighten the lid immediately after collection.
  4. Check the temperature. Read the built-in temperature strip within the period stated in the product instructions.
  5. Allow the panels to develop. Keep the cup upright on a flat surface for the specified development time.
  6. Read each drug panel. Interpret the Control and Test lines within the manufacturer’s result-reading window.
  7. Read the validity indicators. Compare the pH, specific-gravity and creatinine pads with the included color chart at the stated time.

For illustrated instructions, see our guide explaining how to read a urine drug test cup.

How to Interpret the Results

  • Negative: Both the Control line and Test line appear for the corresponding assay. A faint Test line should be interpreted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Preliminary non-negative: The Control line appears, but the Test line does not appear for the corresponding assay.
  • Invalid: The Control line does not appear. Repeat the procedure with a new device.

This rapid cup provides preliminary screening results. A non-negative result should be confirmed using an appropriate laboratory method when required by policy, regulation or the consequences of the testing decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this 12 panel rapid drug test screen for?

It screens for AMP, BUP, BZO, COC, ETG, FEN, MDMA, MET, MTD, OPI, OXY and THC. It also includes pH, specific-gravity and creatinine indicators.

Does this cup include a separate buprenorphine test?

Yes. The configuration includes a dedicated BUP assay with a 10 ng/mL cutoff. Buprenorphine is not automatically detected by a general opiate panel.

How is this cup different from the other Economy ETG and FEN cup?

This configuration includes BUP/10 and MET/500. The related configuration includes BAR/300 instead of BUP and uses a MET/1000 cutoff.

What do pH, SG and creatinine indicate?

They provide information about specimen characteristics, including acidity, concentration and possible dilution. They do not identify every possible adulterant.

Is this 12 panel drug screen cup CLIA-waived?

No. This configuration is sold as a Forensic Use Only product and should not be represented as CLIA-waived.

What should be done with a preliminary non-negative result?

An appropriate laboratory confirmation method should be used when required by the testing program, applicable rules or the consequences of the decision.
