Reading a 9 Panel Saliva Test

Each drug panel on a 9 panel saliva test has 2 lines to check: C proves the device worked, and T relates to the drug on that panel.

  • C plus T: negative
  • C without T: non-negative, preliminary only
  • No C: invalid, so start over with a new pen

The reading is qualitative, so it never states an amount. Before any decision, a laboratory should verify each panel that reads non-negative.
