What Is a 6 Panel Saliva Drug Test?

It is a screen that checks one saliva sample for 6 drug targets at once. Our versions are single-use pens, with 4 fixed targets and 2 that vary:

Each 6 panel mouth swab drug test is run in view of the collector, with no restroom trip and no urine cup. The pen gathers saliva, and the same 6 panel mouth swab then shows all 6 results.

Reading a 6 Panel Saliva Test

Every drug panel on a 6 panel saliva test has a control line marked C and a test line marked T.

  • Both lines appear: negative
  • C appears without T: non-negative, preliminary
  • C is missing: invalid, so use another pen

The screen is qualitative, so no drug amount is reported. Lab confirmation is needed for any non-negative panel.

Panel Cutoffs

Each 6 panel oral drug test here uses saliva cutoffs, and many of those differ from urine cutoffs. A panel that appears on more than 1 pen has 1 shared value:
