Description

12 Panel Drug Test with Alcohol Metabolite and Fentanyl Screening

This 12 panel drug test with alcohol is a Serenity multi-drug urine test cup that includes dedicated EtG and fentanyl assays. It combines specimen collection and preliminary screening in one device, reducing the need to use separate cups and test strips.

Not every standard 12 panel drug test includes alcohol-related screening. This specific configuration includes an EtG assay at 300 ng/mL and a fentanyl assay at 20 ng/mL. EtG and fentanyl are included among the 12 total assay panels; they are not additional panels added to a standard 12-panel configuration.

The cup is designed for qualified forensic programs that require a broader panel containing both traditional drug classes and specialty EtG and fentanyl screening. It is a Forensic Use Only product and is not CLIA waived.

Drugs and Cutoff Levels

The cup screens for the following 12 drugs, drug classes and metabolites. Cutoff levels identify the concentration at which each qualitative assay produces a preliminary screening result.

Drug or drug class Abbreviation Cutoff level
Amphetamines AMP 1,000 ng/mL
Buprenorphine BUP 10 ng/mL
Benzodiazepines BZO 300 ng/mL
Cocaine metabolite COC 300 ng/mL
Ethyl glucuronide ETG 300 ng/mL
Fentanyl FYL 20 ng/mL
Methamphetamine MET 1,000 ng/mL
Methadone MTD 300 ng/mL
Opiates/Morphine OPI 300 ng/mL
Oxycodone OXY 100 ng/mL
Phencyclidine PCP 25 ng/mL
Marijuana metabolite THC 50 ng/mL

The current product image uses FYL as the fentanyl-panel abbreviation. This is the abbreviation retained in the table so the page matches the physical cup label.

Why Choose a Drug Test with EtG and Fentanyl?

This configuration is intended for programs that specifically require EtG and fentanyl screening in addition to commonly tested drug classes. A traditional 12 panel configuration does not automatically include either assay, so buyers should always verify the exact panel list before ordering.

EtG, or ethyl glucuronide, is a metabolite produced after alcohol is processed by the body. The EtG panel provides a qualitative preliminary screen for this metabolite. It does not determine impairment, the amount of alcohol consumed or the exact time of consumption.

The separate fentanyl panel provides screening at a 20 ng/mL cutoff. A general opiate assay should not be treated as a substitute for a dedicated fentanyl assay.

For additional educational information, review our guide to alcohol urine testing and EtG screening.

Integrated Serenity Cup Design

The Serenity Cup combines specimen collection, screening panels and a temperature strip in a single disposable device. After the specimen is collected and the lid is secured, the assay strips develop inside the sealed cup.

  • Integrated urine collection and screening device
  • Secure screw-top lid
  • Built-in temperature strip
  • Twelve individually labeled assay panels
  • Preliminary results in approximately five minutes
  • No separate dip card required

This configuration does not contain separate pH, specific gravity or creatinine adulterant indicators. The built-in temperature strip helps assess specimen temperature but should not be described as a complete adulteration test.

How to Use the 12 Panel Drug Test with Alcohol

  1. Keep the test sealed until the specimen is ready to be collected.
  2. Open the cup and collect an adequate urine specimen according to the included instructions.
  3. Secure the lid tightly to help prevent leakage during handling.
  4. Check the built-in temperature strip within the period specified by the product instructions.
  5. Expose the test-result windows as directed on the cup.
  6. Read the results at the time specified in the instructions, generally approximately five minutes after collection.

Always follow the instructions included with the current product lot. Do not interpret results before or after the manufacturer’s specified reading window.

How to Read the Results

  • Negative: A control line and a test line appear for the applicable assay.
  • Preliminary non-negative: A control line appears, but no test line appears for the applicable assay.
  • Invalid: The control line does not appear. Repeat the test using a new device.

For a more detailed visual explanation, see how to read a drug test cup. Additional assay information is available in our drug-test cutoff level guide.

Forensic Use Only

This product is designated Forensic Use Only and is not CLIA waived. It is intended for drugs-of-abuse testing for law-enforcement purposes and related forensic testing settings, including court systems, correctional facilities, probation or parole programs and laboratories performing testing for those entities.

Do not market this product for home, clinical or ordinary workplace testing. Results are qualitative and preliminary. Any preliminary non-negative result should be confirmed using an appropriate laboratory method before a final determination is made.

Other products intended for this setting can be found in the Forensic Use drug test cup collection.

Compare Serenity and Economy EtG Cup Formats

This product uses the Serenity Cup format and includes EtG and fentanyl without separate adulterant indicators. For a smaller Economy format, compare the 12 panel EtG and fentanyl cup in 90 mL.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a 12 panel drug test test for alcohol?

Not every 12 panel drug test includes alcohol-related screening. This particular Serenity Cup includes an EtG assay at a 300 ng/mL cutoff. EtG is a metabolite of alcohol and is included as one of the cup’s 12 assay panels.

Is this a 12 panel test plus an additional alcohol panel?

No. This product has 12 assay panels in total. EtG and fentanyl are included among the 12 panels rather than being added to a separate standard 12-panel configuration.

Does this cup include a fentanyl test?

Yes. The cup includes a dedicated fentanyl assay labeled FYL on the current product image, with a cutoff level of 20 ng/mL.

What does the EtG panel indicate?

The EtG panel provides a preliminary qualitative screen for ethyl glucuronide in urine. It does not establish impairment, the amount of alcohol consumed or the exact time alcohol was consumed.

How quickly are results available?

Preliminary results are generally available in approximately five minutes. Follow the instructions supplied with the current product lot for the exact reading time and valid interpretation window.

Is this 12 panel cup CLIA waived?

No. This configuration is a Forensic Use Only product and is not CLIA waived.

Is a non-negative result definitive?

No. A non-negative rapid-screening result is preliminary and should be confirmed using an appropriate laboratory method before a final determination is made.

Can this product be purchased in bulk?

Yes. Tiered quantity pricing is available, and qualifying orders of 100 or more cups receive free shipping.
