Description

Kratom Test Strips – KRA/500 Urine Dip Strip

These kratom test strips are single-panel urine dip strips that screen a urine specimen for kratom (mitragynine) at a 500 ng/mL cutoff. Each test gives a preliminary result in minutes and is sold individually, so you can order exactly the quantity your program needs.

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is not detected by standard drug panels. A dedicated KRA test is needed when kratom use has to be screened.

This product is Forensic Use Only. Related options are listed in our single-panel drug test strips category, including the kratom urine test cartridge.

KRA Dip Strip Cutoff Level

This dip strip screens for one target. Programs that need several drugs at once should compare our multi-panel cups and dip cards.

Drug Name Abbreviation Cutoff
Kratom (mitragynine) KRA 500 ng/mL

Kratom Test Strips Features

Each dip strip is individually sealed and includes an internal control line, so every test shows whether it was run correctly.

The dip strip is used with urine collected in a separate cup. That keeps the cost per test low and lets you add a kratom screen to an existing collection process.

Because it screens only one target, the dip strip can be paired with a multi-panel cup or dip card when kratom needs to be added to a broader drug screen.

Why Screen for Kratom?

Kratom has become a common addition to treatment and court-supervised testing programs because standard panels do not cover it.

For background on newer kratom products, see our 7-OH kratom guide.

KRA/500 provides kratom-related (mitragynine) screening. KRA is not the same target as K2 synthetic cannabinoids.

How to Use and Read Results

Always follow the package insert supplied with the exact lot, because collection steps and reading times can differ between devices.

  1. Collect the urine specimen in a clean, separate collection cup.
  2. Remove the strip from the sealed pouch and hold it by the top end.
  3. Dip the arrow end into the urine without passing the MAX line, for the time stated in the insert.
  4. Lay the strip flat on a clean, non-absorbent surface and read the result within the stated window.
  • Negative: both the control line (C) and the test line (T) appear for the test. A faint test line is interpreted according to the insert.
  • Non-negative (preliminary positive): the control line appears but the test line does not. This is a preliminary screening result, not a confirmed result.
  • Invalid: no control line appears. Do not interpret the result; repeat the test with a new device.

A non-negative screen should be followed by laboratory confirmation according to your program’s procedure before any final decision is made. A screening result does not show impairment, dose or the time of use.

Intended Use, Storage & Limitations

This dip strip is labeled Forensic Use Only. Forensic Use Only status is different from CLIA-waived status and should be confirmed for each product before purchase.

Store sealed pouches as directed on the packaging, check the expiration date before use and use each device only once.

This is a preliminary screening test: it detects only the targets listed above at the stated cutoffs. As the FDA guidance on drugs-of-abuse screening tests explains, preliminary positive results should be confirmed by a laboratory. Instant tests are not an authorized method for DOT-regulated drug testing under 49 CFR §40.210.
